What are your office hours?

We are open Monday-Friday from 7:15 am -12:30 pm and from 1:30 PM -3:00 PM
Please note that we are closed for lunch from 12:30-1:30 PM every day, and will not be answering phone calls or taking messages during that time.

Can I leave a message if you are closed for lunch?

No. Our phone system forwards directly to a voice message that does not accept messages. Please call back during our regular hours to speak to someone in the office.

What if I have an emergency?

If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

If you need to reach Dr. Rossi or Dr. Shirey after hours, please call 404-892-6465 and leave a message with the answering service. If no one has returned your call in 20 minutes, please call again.

How can I get my prescription refilled?

Please call during regular office hours and let the office staff know that you need a prescription refilled. One of the doctors will call you back and confirm that the prescription can be refilled. Please have the number of your pharmacy available when the doctor calls, and make sure that the pharmacy is open so we can call in the prescription.

***NOTE: We never refill narcotics or scheduled drugs without seeing our patients in a follow-up visit.

Can I leave a message and get my prescription refilled after the office is closed?

No. We do not refill prescriptions after hours.

I called but no one ever called me back. How come?

It's possible you have a block on your phone that does not accept calls from callers without caller ID. Please unblock your phone if that is the case so we can call you back. We do return all phone calls.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we participate in several insurance plans. See the page on Insurance for more information.

What do I need to do for my first appointment?

Be sure to bring your insurance card. If you want, you may also go to the Forms page and view or print the forms we will ask you to fill out when you arrive at our office.

What happens if I need to be hospitalized?

Most likely, if you need to be hospitalized, we will admit you to Piedmont Hospital. Rossi & Shirey Medical has been affiliated with Piedmont Hospital since 1994. Piedmont Hospital is one of the most highly ranked and convenient hospitals in Atlanta.

While you are hospitalized, you will be cared for by a "hospitalist" (a board-certified Internist who specializes in taking care of hospitalized patients). Hospitalists are available in the hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The hospitalist will see you and coordinate your care with us on a daily basis.

For more information, go to Piedmont Hospital.
